FastMed Urgent Care Launches Keep Cooler Program

Offers free large coolers to schools and other organized teams
to avoid heat related injuries

RALEIGH, N.C., July 27, 2011 – FastMed Urgent Care announced today the “Keep Cooler Program” that donates free five gallon Igloo water coolers to any school (grade school, high school or college, private or public) or other organized sports teams in 19 communities throughout North Carolina and five communities in the Phoenix, AZ area.  The Keep Cooler Program supports healthy hydration among athletes in the communities FastMed serves, particularly during outside play in the hotter months, to help avoid heat related injuries and very serious health complications.  (Note that the Phoenix locations are known today as Urgent Care Express but will be renamed FastMed in August.)

“Every year we see athletes at our FastMed clinics who suffer from dehydration, heat related cramps and other complications that are a direct result of not having enough fluids during sporting activities in extreme heat,” said Jason A. Williams, MPAS, Ph.D, President and CEO, Eastern Region, FastMed Urgent Care.  “Our FastMed team developed the Keep Cooler program because we wanted to provide local sports teams with one easy step in protecting themselves from heat related injuries – drinking more fluids.”

The FastMed Keep Cooler Program provides a free large cooler to each sports team or coach that contacts FastMed (see contact information below). The communities where FastMed is focusing the Keep Cooler Program are in:
North Carolina:  Asheville; Boone; Burlington; Cary; Charlotte; Clayton; Concord; Fuquay; Garner; Greensboro; Hendersonville; Holly Springs; Monroe; Mooresville; Raleigh; Sanford; Wake Forest; Wilkesboro; Winston-Salem.
Phoenix, AZ Area: Apache Junction; Ahwatukee, Chandler; Coolidge; Florence; Gilbert; Higley; Mesa; Queen Creek; San Tan; Scottsdale; Sun Lakes; Tempe.

“In Arizona, we know that heat is serious business and can’t be taken lightly, particularly when engaging in sports activities outside,” said Michael P. Dunn, MD, chief medical officer of FastMed, Arizona.  “The FastMed team in Arizona is very happy to be able to supply our area communities with Keep Cooler coolers because making sure our athletes are well hydrated is the best defense against serious heat related injuries.”

FastMed seeks to partner with schools in the communities surrounding its urgent care locations, particularly through the FastMed Sports Physicals Program where FastMed donates to school athletic departments for students who receive their physicals at FastMed.

Chandler, Ariz- The City of Chandler and Ports America announced today that Ports America would be moving into downtown Chandler. They will be housed in the space formerly occupied by Chandler City Hall and other office tenants at 55 North Arizona Place. This move will bring 200 quality jobs to the downtown area as early as October 31, 2011.

The addition of Ports America, which will occupy three floors in this existing downtown building, takes this building to nearly 90 percent occupancy.

“We have worked diligently to secure this company for our downtown area,” said Mayor Jay Tibshraeny. “I’m very excited to have Ports America join our community, as they will add vibrancy and diversity to our downtown and the City of Chandler business community. I want to acknowledge the Ports America team as well as the brokers and building owners for working on the City’s behalf to bring such a quality employer to Chandler.”

Ports America, headquartered in New Jersey, is the largest independent marine terminal operator in North America, providing terminal management and a full suite of stevedoring (a stevedore is one who works in the loading or unloading of ships) and related services.

“Ports America is very pleased to move its shared services operations, which houses the IT, accounting-related services and other company support functions, to Chandler, Arizona,” Ports America Sr. Vice President Human Resources Stephen Staruch said. “We very much appreciate the support and cooperation from the Mayor’s office in helping facilitate the leasing and permit process.”

Ports America, including its predecessor companies, has more than 85 years of experience operating American seaports. Its current business includes more than 80 terminals in 42 ports in North America, handling containers, roll on/roll off cargo, general cargo and cruise line passengers. The topic: eCommerce: Why is it important and what are the best options for you the business owner?
Commerce today is no longer just a bricks and mortar business. Consumers are turning away from the store fronts and looking to their computers and phones when they want to shop. For most businesses having a web presence that is efficient as well as in sync with in store messaging is necessary to keep your customers as your customers.
Before you can decide if your business needs an eCommerce presence and what eCommerce platform is best for you and your company, you need to understand the options available.  This presentation will help you compare and contrast eCommerce options in the areas of:
·          Features
·          Cost
·          Hosting Options
·          Time to install and go live

We will also examine:
·          Service: What if I need help, can I get it? Can I afford it?
·          Customizations: What if I want to do something nutty?
·          Scale: how big can you get?
·          Full Implementations: What if I need a full blown roll-out with customizations, training, etc?

Derek Jacobson is the Magento Practice Leader for Levementum, LLC, a leading software implementer that specializes in solving demand chain problems.  Derek joined Levementum in 2007, and from 2008-2010 was Director of the SugarCRM practice.
