CHANDLER –  Chandler City Hall is hosting a traveling exhibit of winning
entries, including one from Chandler, from Valley Forward’s 30th annual
Environmental Excellence Awards.

Chandler earned a first-place Crescordia award in the Park Site Development
and Landscape category for the Paseo Vista Recreational Area project, which
was a collaborative effort between the City’s Community Services and
Municipal Utilities departments. The departments partnered to transform
Chandler’s closed landfill near McQueen and Queen Creek roads into a
premier community special-use park with unique recreational offerings such
as disc golf, archery and a dog park.

The Crescordia is the top prize in the Environmental Excellence Awards,
which are presented annually by the Valley Forward Association in
partnership with Salt River Project.

The exhibit spotlights local projects, technologies and programs recognized
in Arizona’s oldest and largest awards program of its kind. The
museum-quality exhibit will be on display in the City Hall lobby through
August 10.
