CHANDLER, Ariz. --- Vice Mayor Trinity Donovan has been appointed to Chair the Budget and Finance Subcommittee of the Valley Metro Regional Public Transportation Authority (RPTA) effective June 15, 2011.

Vice Mayor Donovan has been a member of the RPTA Board of Directors since 2007. She has served on the City of Chandler’s Budget Review Subcommittee and has run two non-profit organizations with budgets up to $1 million.

“Transportation issues are important to the viability and health of every community, said Vice Mayor Donovan. “Working closely with our regional partners on the financing of these projects is a privilege, and I look forward to the service.”

Vice Mayor Donovan began her tenure on the City Council in June 2006, and currently represents the City of Chandler on a regional level as chair of the Maricopa Association of Governments Human Services Coordinating Committee in addition to the Valley Metro Regional Public Transportation Authority.

Vice Mayor Donovan also represents the City at a national level through her involvement in the Council on Youth, Education, and Families. Additionally, she chairs the STAR Community Sustainability Index Technical Advisory Committee for Health and Safety.

The RPTA Budget Review Subcommittee position is currently filled by Town of Gilbert Vice Mayor Les Presmyk, who is leaving office on June 14.

The RPTA is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of a member of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors and the mayors or their designees of member municipalities.
