Our member, Kokopelli Winery & Bistro will be hosting their 8th annual Italian American Celebration January 25-27:
Kokopelli Winery & Bistro hosts 8th
annual Italian American Celebration.
Kokopelli Winery and Bistro is saluting all
Italian Americans on January 25 – 27. The festival will include: Italian food
and desserts co-created this year with our chef and the Executive Chef of Crust
Pizza & Wine of Scottsdale & Phoenix, special Kokopelli Italian wine
tasting, live Italian music all weekend, and bocce ball indoors for fun.
Kokopelli will introduce some of their new Italian inspired wines which they
will feature for tasting all weekend.
Dennis Minchella,
Kokopelli’s owner, learned to cook from his Italian-born grandmother Josephine,
which helped to inspire many of the weekend’s dishes. But for a new twist this
year Dennis contacted his friend Michael Merendino of Crust Pizza & Wine who
agreed to show off some of his incredible Italian dishes. Some of our entrees
will include Lasagna, Michelangelo
Pasta, Chicken or veal Marsala, Chicken Parmesan and Antipasto and
Mediterranean Salads. Our desert menu will feature Cannoli ala Sinatra
and Coliseum Chocolate Cake, and Italian Cookies and Cream.
We will also have live bands and
accordion players rendering Italian tunes all weekend. “This is our 8th annual Italian American Festival at
Kokopelli Winery & Bistro in Chandler to celebrate our family’s Italian
American heritage. We are very excited to prepare for next weekend’s Super Bowl
festivities by celebrating with Italian Wine & Food,” said Dennis
Minchella, CEO of Kokopelli Winery.
Kokopelli Winery is a local family owned winery and
restaurant. Don and Carol Minchella founded the winery in 1992. Kokopelli
Winery is celebrating their twenty first year in operation producing over 20
wines, which collectively have won over 100 medals to date. Kokopelli wine is
distributed in over 600 retail accounts, in addition to their two bistros.
Dennis Minchella, Chief Wine-O, has furthered his father’s legacy by creating
themed festivals, like the Italian American Festival, to show guests that wine
can be easily paired with all cuisines.
