The Ostrich Festival Is Almost Here!

Come and make this year's Ostrich Festival the best one yet! The Chandler Chamber of Commerce is excited to be organizing this year's 26th annual Ostrich Festival! The festival is to be held this upcoming weekend, Friday, March 7th to Sunday, March 9th at Chandler's Tumbleweed Park (at the corner of McQueen and Germann Roads). The park's physical address, 2250 S McQueen Road, is just south of the Loop 202 San Tan freeway at McQueen Road. After kicking off Ostrich Week this past Saturday with the Mayor's 5k Fun Run and Ostrich Parade, we can't wait for this weekend to be here! Make sure to bring family and friends to see what the fuss is all about!

The Ostrich Festival features not only these exotic birds, but an array of entertainment ranging from magic shows, petting zoos, carnival acts, fair rides, ostrich racing, family games, BMX motorists, music icon Edwin McCain, a local music line up, hand painted ostrich eggs, emu oil, and whacky carnival foods like pizza on a stick, beer battered pickles, fried brownies, lobster po boys, and ostrich burgers! Of course, there will be ordinary food there too, so bring the family for a weekend filled with fun and laughter.

The Ostrich Festival is one of the biggest festivals in Chandler and not only does it bring the community together, but also celebrates the history of ostrich ranching in Arizona. The festival, which first began in 1989, has grown to become one of the premier festivals in the Southwest. This event celebrates the colorful period of history from 1888 to 1916 when the city of Chandler and Maricopa County led the nation in ostrich feather production where there was a high demand for their gorgeous feathers and plumes to adorn women's hats. Come celebrate with the Chandler Chamber of Commerce and witness these majestic birds in action!
