Mayor’s ‘Listening Tour’ travels to south Chandler

CHANDLER, Ariz. – Mayor Jay Tibshraeny will join Chandler’s Neighborhood Advisory Committee (NAC) June 14 in hosting the third of five neighborhood meetings as part of a “Listening Tour” designed to provide residents with information on City resources and services and engage neighborhoods in conversations about the challenges they face.

The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at Santan Elementary School, Multi-purpose Room,
1550 E. Chandler Heights Road
.

“These meetings are very hands-on and give residents an opportunity to work collaboratively with city staff and their neighbors to resolve issues and improve their neighborhoods,” Mayor Tibshraeny said. “We’ve worked with residents on everything from illegal dumping and parking issues to cracked sidewalks and speed enforcement.”

The City has been documenting residents’ comments and concerns to ensure issues are followed up on and resolved. Listening Tours were held in central and west Chandler in January and March and participation is solicited through notices mailed to area residents and sent home with school children.

Future Listening Tour locations include Sirrine Elementary School,
591 W. Mesquite Street
, on Tues., Sept. 13, and Hancock Elementary School,
2425 S. Pleasant Drive
, on Tues., Nov. 8. The meetings are held at 7 p.m.
