Donate Your Old Cell Phones

Donated cell phones aid violence victims
Nearly 140 used cell phones were donated over the holidays during the city’s “Answer the Call” cell phone drive. The Chandler Police Department is distributing the phones to domestic violence victims for use in emergencies.
The City and Soroptimist International of the San Tans organized the drive before Thanksgiving and arranged for donated phones to be dropped off at various municipal buildings, plus several Tempe businesses. Among locations phones can still be dropped off are the Chandler Police Department main station, 250 E Chicago St.; the Chandler Chamber of Commerce, 25 S. Arizona Place, Suite 201; and Chandler libraries.
Before donating a phone, it is important to delete all personal information. This includes stored phone numbers, call history and text messages. A working charger must accompany the donation. Persons desiring an in-kind donation slip for their donation should include their name and phone number with their donated phone.
